Hyperoche site update — how to apply

Copy these into your VitePress project root (the folder with package.json), replacing the existing files:

index.md → replaces index.md
about.md → replaces about.md
.vitepress/config.mts → replaces .vitepress/config.mts
.vitepress/theme/custom.css → replaces .vitepress/theme/custom.css
public/images/render/apple.png → new
public/images/render/cornell.png→ new

Then delete these two pages (their content is folded into about.md):

software.md
technology.md

.vitepress/theme/index.ts and all legal pages stay as they are.

Before you deploy

  1. Render three proof images: dispersion.png (prism or cut gem), and ideally a soap-bubble or oil-slick for thin-film and the same scene under 2700 K vs 6500 K for blackbody. Add the first as as public/images/render/dispersion.png (4:3 works best). Until it exists, the second gallery image shows a dark box.
  2. Buy button — the href="#" on both "Buy early access" links needs your store URL.
  3. robots / bot blocking — allow Googlebot, Bingbot, DuckDuckBot, Twitterbot, facebookexternalhit, LinkedInBot. Block AI crawlers by name if you want (GPTBot, CCBot, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, Google-Extended).
  4. Run npm run docs:build and check .vitepress/dist/index.html has the new title.

Fonts

Instrument Serif and Geist load from Google Fonts (added in config.mts head). If you prefer self-hosted, download both and put @font-face rules at the top of custom.css.

Editing copy later

All homepage text is in index.md as plain HTML — edit the words between the tags, leave the class="…" attributes alone. Nothing in custom.css needs touching for copy changes.
